GEOLOGIC CONIDITIONS Bdrock of the Pennsylvmian age Ea$e Valley EYryuite uderlies thc Aspcn Glen Developmenr. These rocks are a sequerae of gpsifercus *ale, firle.graind sardstotrc/siltstooe and liruestone with somc massive beds of gypsum. There is a possibilrty that massive gypsum deposits associated with the Eagle Valtey Evaporite undcrlic portions of te lot. Dissolrrdon of the g)?cum under ccrtain conditions can cause sinttoles to develop and cen produce areas of localized subsiderce. To reduce the effects of some differential mvemem, floor slabs shorrld bc separatad from all bearing walls and columns with expausion joinr which allow unrestrainod vertical movcurctrt. Floor slab comol joints should be usod to rrduce danrage due to shrinkage cacking. Thc rcquircrrcs for joint sping ad slab rcinforccocnt should be established by the designer based on experience and the intcndd slab rse.
