PERMISSION IS HEREBY GRANTED TO THE APPLICANT AS OWNER, CONTRACTOR AND/OR THE AGENT OF THE CONTRACTOR OR OWNER TO
CONSTRUCT THE STRUCTURE AS DETAILED ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS SUBMITTED TO AND REVIEWED BY THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
IN CONSIDERATION OF THE ISSUANCE OF THIS PERMIT THE SIGNER HEREBY AGREES TO COMPLY WITH ALL BUILDING CODES AND LAND USE
REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY GARFIELD COUNTY PURSUANT TO AUTHORITY GIVEN IN 30.28.201 CRS AS AMENDED. THE SIGNER FURTHER
AGREES THAT IF THE ABOVE SAID ORDINANCES ARE NOT FULLY COMPLIED WITH IN THE LOCATION, ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION AND USE OF
THE ABOVE DESCRIBED STRUCTURE. THE PERMIT MAY THEN BE REVOKED BY NOTICE FROM THE COUNTY AND THAT THEN AND THERE IT
SHALL BECOME NULL AND VOID.

Dear Mr, Mugford,
Section 108.1 of the 1994 Uniform Building Code states " All construction or work for
which a permit is required shall be subject to inspection by the building official and all such
construction or work shall remain accessible and exposed for inspection purposes until
approved by the building official."
Section 106,4.2 states the set of approved plans returned to the applicant shall be kept on
the site at all times during which work authorized in progress_"
Section 108.8 states " Reinspection fees ($42) may be assessed when the inspection record
card or the approved plans are not readily available to the inspector, or from deviating from the
approved plat:s."
Taking pictures of any portion of the building process is not allowed by us under any
circumstance as a substitute for required inspections. Since we did not see the steel in your footer
before you poured your concrete. we can not ever sign offon the footer inspection. In your case,
we will take your footer photographs and note on the inspection cards "pictures".
Make sure to keep your approved plans and inspection record card available to us in the
future, and to call at least 24 hours ahead to schedule inspections BEFORE COVERING. We
will not require you to engage a Registered Professional Engineer for your footer, however any
future deviations from the required inspection process will require an engineer's evaluation, and a
"Stop Work" order wi]1 be placed on the addition until properly resolved with the building
department. Please call us if you have any questions.
