Good Morning Andy,
Let’s go ahead and proceed with the Carver Residence permit close out and request for a partial
refund. Let me know what you’d need from me. I’ve attached the prior payment documents if that
is of some use.
Refund would be to:
Steve or April Carver
P.O. Box 2021
Glenwood Springs, CO 81602-2021
Thank you,
John

We sometimes get caught in a catch 22 when work has begun but the end is not in sight. Extensions
are granted since the options are limited. If the permit has been issued but work has not
commenced, the best option is to close out the permit and request a partial refund on the permit
fee. We can return the file and plans for future use. Chances are we could discount the future fees
if we do not have to do a new complete plan review. This is the best option considering the work
might be put off another block of time. Thanks for the follow-up.

Hello Andy,
The Carver Residence remodel permit in Noname is about to expire again.
It ended up that the Carver’s won the auction on the Redstone Castle, and have been devoting all of
their attention getting the place up and running again.
The reality is that it would probably be one year before the Noname project could start.
Would you be okay extending the permit for another 6 months? Not sure if a year is even possible?
Thanks for the consideration,
John

John,
No big deal. If you have passed a required inspection, the permit is good for another 6 months. This
email will also extend the permit 6 months if there have not been any recent inspections. Thanks for
keeping up with it.
Andy

Hi John,
I would suggest picking up the permit now then request an extension via e-mail sometime early next
year (wow 2017). They could then start any time in the Spring that works for them.

Hi Andy,
Your office had left word that the permit is ready to pick-up for the Carver Remodel in Noname.
That is great and we’re curious as to the comments.
The Carvers have decided to delay the construction start until the Spring of 2017, since we are
heading into fall/ winter. They’re looking at a March 1st, 2017 start if weather permits.
They have the Permit Check ready for the $1,273.75, however it looks like they’ll need an extension
since we’ll exceed the 180 days to the 1st inspection.
Should I go ahead and drop of the check now? and curious how to handle the extension?
Thanks,
John
