Regarding the wall enclosure at the existing covered deck, please note the following:
1. The 2x10 ledger attachment with (2) Ledger -Lok screws at 16" o.c. is acceptable to
carry the floor loads.
2. The existing cracked joist (7th joist from outside face) shall be replaced with the same
size joist.
3. It is my understanding the built-up furring that aligns with the existing 2x10 joists was
screwed to the top of the 2x10's with Timber -Lok screws @ 16" o.c.. From the photos, it
appears one row of blocking was installed between the joists; the blocking extends from
the underside of sheathing and laps the 2x10 approximately 2 inches. This should be
sufficient.
4. The perimeter rim of the furring needs to be screwed to the timber beams with Timber -
Lok screws at 16" o.c.
