Subject:Recommendations for systems and programs for the handling of
sewage and effluent from the proposed A.T.V. sales, service and repair
facility on Lot 2 at Van Rand Park. Attachments
Mr. Ron Perau has submitted a request to install an LS.D.S (Individual Sewage
Disposal System) on Lot 2 at Van Rand Park. He has included information from
Mr. David Dodson, President of the Van Rand Park Association regarding the
existing system being very close to its maximum design flow. From the proposed
location it would be necessary to pump the effluent up hill to the sewage line.
In order for Mr. Perau to install an I.S.D.S. in the proposed location it is appropriate
that he apply for and obtain approval from the Garfield County Board of Health to
utilize an LS.D.S. rather than connect to the central system which is at capacity.
This system would only be for the containment of wastes from water closets,
lavatories and sinks of the proposed sales, service and repair facility. It is
recommended that provisions be required by the Board to allow for the connection
of this system to any improved central system that may be available to Van Rand
Park tenants in the future.
The method of collection and containment of materials not bio- degradable within
thirty (30) hours and which are related to the service and repair aspects of this
facility and the collection of these materials by the licensed hazard waste removal
company will need to be approved by the Building, Planning and Sanitation
department.
If the board requires any additional information on this project please direct me and
I will be happy to provide it or cause it to be provided.

Re: Proposed Septic System,
I am writing this letter in connection with a request to be
able to install our own septic - infiltrator disposal system.
The system would be designed after a perk test at the proposed
site is completed.
As stated in the enclosed letter from the Van Rand Park Assoc.
their present system is reaching capacity.
We are proposing to open a sno- mobile, A.T.V. sales & service
repair facility on Lot 2 of the Van Rand Park.
The facility will need bathroom disposal requirements as well
as a floor drain in the service area which will be used for
washing vehicles etc.
Any engine repairs & rebuilding will be done in a separate
room. Any oil or other chemicals would be collected & saved
in storage drums & disposed of through our present licensed
hazardous waste removal company.
I own the property at the proposed building site and do not
want it contaminated through the septic system. I know how
critical the E.P.A. is getting in this area, and I agree with
them wholedheartedly.
The enclosed map shows the proposed building site in yellow
and the proposed septic system location in blue
