HomeMy WebLinkAboutEngineer's General Comments& Soil Cover Report 09.04.2015GROUND ENGINEERING CONSULTRNTS Client: Mr. Clint Omang 262 Wooden Deer Rd Carbondale, CO 81623 262 Wooden Deer Rd - Garage OH Job No: 15-6575 General Comments Date: September 4, 2015 As scheduled, a representative arrived on-site to perform the below discussed services and we have the following comments. ***OPEN HOLE*** The compacted structural fill soils at the base of the excavation for the garage addition were observed, It is our understanding that the recommendations of LKP Engineering, Inc. were followed, consisting of over -excavating 4' below bottom of footing elevation and replacing with compacted 1 1/2" minus base course material improved with three layers of Tensar TX140 geogrid placed at 6", 24", and 42" below bottom of footing. At an elevation of approximately 6410', the prepared materials were comprised of Class 6 base course material placed above the structural fill section outlined in the project geotechnical recommendations prepared by LKP Engineering, Inc., dated August 3, 2015, supplemented on August 6, 2015. The improved structural fill section is therefore deemed capable of providing a maximum allowable soil bearing capacity of 2000 psf. The exposed materials were prepared in accordance with project documents and tested for moisture and density (reported on corresponding soil compaction report).
