Dear Ed,
After discussion of the new construction at the lo,'ge with the
Building Official Jim McMurray, w, have deternined that the existing
exiting from the upstairs office space is inadequate. We also realize
that you are planning to install a proper stairway next year, after the
¢ki season. To ensure that this stairway is Installed, we now are
requiring that it be built according to Chapter 33 of the Uniform
Builping Cade and be op=rational by opening day 1989. IF you have any

Of greater concern to this department is the lack of an adequate
water supply -For fire protection; As you may rerall a draft station was
required in 1931. This unit was designed to provide a rninirrum amount of
water during the summer months. Unfortunately, the dry hydrant does not
work very well due to turbulence and low levels of the stream. At this
time we would like to meet with you and concerned parties to discuss
the installation of a water supply that will proride adequate fire
flews. We understand that in the near future you will be having snow
making capabilities. We also know that the Grettelberg Inn has a large
water, storage tank. Both of these systems could be designed to provide
fire protection. These are some of the options we would like to discuss
with you. I'm sure Sunlight plans to expand in the future, and with
expansion comes new buildings. It must be made clear that no new

construction can be allowed without an adequate water supply.
Please contact me as soon as possible so that we can set up a
meeting date to discuss the water supply situation. We appreciate the
Support and coopgraticn that Sunlight has given us in the past and hope
that we can continue to work together to solve your fire protec:icn
problems.
