Under separate cover (Fed. Ex.) are 6 prints each of the
drawings shown with "*" on Drawing Index Rev's. C dated 8-14-87
for both Midway and Primo lifts. Two extra prints of drawing
1013-0006 Midway Drive Terminal Foundation are provided for buil-
ding permit application.
Regarding the Midway motor room, which is part of the drive
terminal foundation on 10~3-0006, only the "toe" of the foun-
dation under the F-section, the uphill wall, and the gearbox
mount pedestal are structural components insofar as the lift is
concerned. So, you may make the motor room walls of concrete or
cinder block if you wish and if the building official agrees.
Build it in accordance with standard practice for basement walls
so constructed. Our concerns with using blocks would be primarily
the increased chance for water leakage, plus the need to rein-
force the walls to resist soil pressure from baakfill.
Regarding the Primo tension terminal, go ahead and install
.it one foot uphill of the location shown on drawing 1012-0003-A,
but use same elevations. We'll compensate by adjusting the height
of the crossarm on Tower 1, and will provide you with the
necessary information.
