Dear Roberta,
This letter is followup information from my visit to your home on Friday February 2 ,
1996, and OLff discussions regarding your still open building pe1mit . Jt a11pears that there may
have been some coufasion regarding this project. It would appear that the primary item remaining
to be completed is the proper installation of a smoke detector.
Your home needs to have at least one smoke detector installed according to Unifonn
Building Code requirements. This detector should be located approximately 3 feet down from
the highest po1tion of the ceiling on a wall where it could be heard from the sleeping room. 111is
smoke detectol' needs to receive its p1imary power from the building wiring, and shall be equipped
with a battery backup that will emit a signal when the batteries are low. This work should be done
by a Colorado Licensed Electrician to ensure that the proper wiring connections are made.
We would ask you to install this smoke detector by no later than Monday, April 1, 1996.
When you are done, please call us to schedule an inspection. At that time we will verify the
proper installation of the smoke detector, and make a final inspection of the home. If dming this
final inspection we discover any additional items that need conection, we will of course allow you
additional time to make any necessary corrections.
When we can finalize this building permit, we will then be able to issue you a Certificate of
Occupancy. Please call me if you have any finthel' questions. Tirnnk you.
