Subject: Revision of previous letter elated September 2 7, 1993 regarding
completion of area designated on permit No. 4 776 as
UNFINISHED area.
Dear Mr. Wenter:
It: has come to my attention that some work has been undertaken on the home
being built at 41 Cottonwood Court that is beyond the scope of the permit
referenced above.
The area in question is in the basement area of l,326 sq. fl "The valuation of
this area was determined as unfinished area at a rate of $10.00 per sq. ft.or
$13,260.00. Approximately 449 sq. ft of the basement has been finished
without a permit or plan review for the work clone. l JBC ( l lniJorrn Building
Code) Section 304 (e) l. "Investigation. Whenever and work fony]1ich a permit
is required by this code has been commenced without first obtaining said
permit, a special investigation shall be made before a permit is issued for such
work." Subsection 2. "Fee. /\n investigation fee., in addition to the permit fee,
shall be collected whether or not a pennit is then or subsequently issued. The
investigation fee shall be equal to the amount of the permit fee required by the
code.
A building pennit will be required for the work unclerlaken. It will need to be
determined if the work meets the requirements of the LIBC or if any
corrections must be made to bring work into compliance.
The following is a break down of the fees for lhe basement area previously
calculated and the current fees required under the code when a new permit
application is applied for and issued.
449 sq. ft.@ $42.36 = $19,019.64
877 sq. ft.@ $10.00 = __ $__1LlZO 00
sub total= $27,789.00
