Dear Mr. Koziel,
A building permit expires after six months, if work is not diligently progressing. The last
inspection (insulation) called for by you was completed approximately one year ago. This letter is
to inform you that an extension of tune is being allowed for the permit to remain open. until
--January 31,199-7; as per your request fur additional time to finish. Please make every effort to
complete the project by this date. Failure to complete this addition by the due date may result in a
new permit being required to continue construction.
As you may remember, no use or occupancy of the addition is permitted until there has
been a final inspection from this office. This final inspection includes passing a final electrical
inspection from the state inspector. The reason for this is to ensure that all building code safety
requirements have been properly met.

Please be advised that building permits expire per Colorado Revised Statute 30-28-205 & 210,
Uniform Building Code Section 106.4.4 and 106.4.5, 180 days after they are issued, if the
building or work authorized by the permit has not commenced, or if the work is suspended or
abandoned for a period of 180 days, after it has commenced. The building official may extend the
time for action by the permittee for a period not exceeding 180 days, upon written request by the
permittee showing circumstances beyond the control of the permittee have prevented action from
being taken. No permits, may be extended more than once.
Please contact me at your very earliest convenience, in writing, to advise about what the status of
your permitted work is.
if you have not responded within thirty days from the receipt of this notice, the Garfield County
Building official will revoke this permit.
