ENGINEERING CONSUL -WNW August 11, 2008 (970) 945-5700 (970) 945-1253 Fax This letter documents our July 17, 2008 visit to the Craig and "Doris Bair ranch, to view septic systems installed at guest facilities on the ranch, in conjunction with your ongoing effort to obtain county permits for the systems. As you are aware, we viewed three septic systems, one at each of the following facilities: Golden Le -Grand Lodge (on Spruce Creek); Caribou Cabin (near the Lodge on Spruce Creek), and the Wapiti Cabins (west of Ike Creek). At the Lodge, the septic tank was observed. Some scum was floating on the effluent side of the baffling, but not a serious buildup. The. tank appeared to be functioning reasonably well, discharging clear water from a level below the scum layer. The general location of,:tke Teach field area was indicated to us. Fixtures in the Lodge were turned on (approximately 5 gallons. per minute) and let run for about 90 minutes while we viewed;other systems on the ranch; after which we returned to the Lodge, finding no evidence of problems with the leach field. At Caribou Cabin, the locations of the 'septic tank and leach field were not apparent. Jim Bair indicated the location of the septic tank, buried beneaththe lawn. As indicated, the septic tank location is about 80 'feet from SpruceCreek; which is in compliance with the 50 ft setback requirement. No evidence of system maofunctior was noticeable At the Wapiti Cabins, the septic tank was observed. The tank appeared to be functioning normally, discharging clear water. Jim indicated the general location of the leach field area. There was no evidence of leach field malfunction. if you have any questions, please call (970) 945-5700. The 3 ISDS systems were built at the Lodge Building, the Caribou Cabin and the Wapiti Hunting Camp site. Attached are the invoices from Grand Junction Pipe & Supply for all of the infiltrator chambers and accessory piping for the 3 systems. Wapiti Hunting Cabin areas with toilets were built around 2001, the Caribou Cabin was built in 2003 and the Lodge was built in 2005. All systems have been operated at maximum capacity with no sign of overloading of the systems. #2110 Attached are the 3 applications for the 3 systems and a check for $ 0 for the permits.
