HomeMy WebLinkAboutCorrespondence Regarding Fire Sprinkler RequirementsAndy Schwaller From: Andy Schwaller Sent: Friday, October 06, 2017 11:14 AM To: 'carolfuller8987@comcast.net; 'kwt@hinge-architects.com' Cc: 'john@cmgvs.com'; 'Ron Biggers'; Dave Argo; Jim Wilson; Matt Provost Subject: 50633 Highway 6 & 24 We have completed the plan review for this structure and will be issuing the permit hopefully still today. A fire sprinkler system is not required since the size of the proposed residential alteration of the existing building is less than 1000 sf. All new wall construction will need to be 1 hr rated which is typically wood or steel studs with 5/8 sheetrock. Existing walls and floor will need to be reviewed to determine they are also 1 hr. rated. Please see the redlined items on the plans for other requirements and call with any questions that might come up. You will need to contact the Glenwood Fire District for smoke and fire alarm requirements. They will also review the plans for other fire code related items. Contact person is Ron Biggers at 384-6433. Please provide them with a set of plans. The fire district will do a rough -in inspection and also a final inspection for the project. Thanks, Andy Schwaller Building Official Garfield County 1
