•CONDITIONS:
1. All installation must comply with all requirements of the Colorado State Board of Health Individual Sewage Disposal Systems Chapter
25, Article 10 C.R.S. 1973, Revised 1984.
2. This permit is valid only for connection to structures which have fully complied with County zoning and building requirements. Con-
nection to or use with any dwelling or structures not approved by the Building and Zoning office shall automatically be a violation or e
requirement of the permit and cause for both legal action and revocation of the permit.
3. Any person who constructs, alters, or installs an individual sewage disposal system in a manner which involves a knowing and material
variation from the terms or specifications contained in the application of permit commits a Class I. Petty Offense ($500.00 fine — 6
months in jail or both).

This Private Residential Treatment System is designed to serve a Three bedroom Single Family Home..
According to Garfield County regulations for design average waste flow assume 2 persons per bedroom and an
average daily sewage flow of 75 gpd/person..
Therefore:
Residential Sewage Flow:
(3 Bedrooms) x 2 people/ bedroom = 6 persons
6 persons X 75 gpd/ person = 450 gpd
Average Daily Waste Flow = 450 gpd
Design Daily Waste Flow = 1.50 x Average Daily Waste Flow;
1.50 x 450 gpd = 675 gpd
Minimum recommended concrete septic tank size = 1000 gallons
Percolation testing was performed by Schmueser Gordon Meyer, Inc. Results of percolation testing was as follows:
Percolation Rate 1: 32 min / in
Percolation Rate 2: 17.5 min / in
Percolation Rate 3: 17.5 min / in
Use a Percolation Rate = 23 min / in
The required absorption area (A) for a normal gravel type leach area is calculated using the following formula:
A = Design flow x VAve. Percolation Rate

Therefore, A = 675 x 23

A = 647 sf
Garfield County allows a maximum reduction of 50% of the required leaching area for a graveless type design in a
Trench configuration and maximum 30% reduction for a Bed configuration. This is a Trench configuration,
Therefore the required Area = 647 sf x 0.5 = 323 sf
Required number of Standard Infiltrator Units = 323 / 15.5 = 21 units
Required Number of Infiltrator Quick4 units = 21 x 1.5625 = 33
The leach Trenches shall be 3 rows, 11 units long for a total of 33 units.
Minimum Horizontal Setbacks:
Setback from Wells: 100 ft
Setback from River. 50 ft
Setback from Dry Gulch: 25 ft
The above designed ISDS shall be installed satisfying all minimum setbacks and design standards as described by
Garfield County Planning Dept. ISDS regulations and according to all manufacturers specifications and
recommendations.

THE PIPE MUST BE INSTALLED STRAIGHT IN ALIGNMENT AND GRADE.
IF A CHANGE IN ALIGNMENT OR GRADE IS NECESSARY, A CLEANOUT WILL BE REQUIRED AT THE CHANGE.
THE MINIMUM GRADE OF THE PIPE MUST BE 1/4" PER FOOT.
THE PIPE MUST BE A MINIMUM OF ASTM 3034 PVC PIPE. IF THE LINE CROSSES A VEHICULAR ACCESS,
THE PIPE SPECIFICATION SHALL BE ASTM 3034 PVC OR BETTER.
A MINIMUM OF 1 CLEANOUT SHALL BE INSTALLED AT THE LOCATION WHERE THE PIPE LEAVES THE RESIDENCE
THE PIPE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 4" IN DIAMETER.
4. THE PIPE FROM THE SEPTIC TANK TO THE BIODIFFUSER BED SYSTEM MUST BE INSTALLED AS FOLLOWS:
THE MINIMUM SLOPE OF THE LINE MUST BE 1/4" PER FOOT.
THE PIPE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF ASTM 3034 PVC PIPE. IF THE LINE CROSSES A VEHICULAR ACCESS,
THE PIPE SPECIFICATION SHALL BE CHANGED TO ASTM 3034 PVC OR BETTER.
