*CONDITIONS:
1. All installation must comply with all requirements of the Colorado State Board of Health Individual Sewage Disposal Systems Chapter
25, Article 10 C.R.S. 1973, Revised 1984.
2. This permit is valid only for connection to structures which have fully complied with County zoning and building requirements. Con-
nection to or use with any dwelling or structures not approved by the Building and Zoning office shall automatically be a violation or a
requirement of the permit and cause for both legal action and revocation of the permit.
3. Any person who constructs, alters, or installs an individual sewage disposal system in a manner which involves a knowing and material
variation from the terms or specifications contained in the application of permit commits a Class I, Petty Offense ($500.00 fine — 6
months in jail or both).

Dear Gentleman:
Pursuant to County Regulations, this letter provides documentation that the new Onsite Wastewater System (OWS)
recently installed is in general compliance with the permitted design. Sopris Engineering has performed site visits
to measure, inspect, and document the as built conditions of the constructed system. The as -built conditions and
installation of the new OWS components is in compliance with the permitted design specifications for the system.
The as -built size and performance specifications of the new OWS system are in compliance with the specifications
on the design drawing.
The System was installed in accordance with State and County Regulations; the design presented in the Sopris
Engineering report and the design drawing specifications and details, dated November 17, 2005. The system is
designed and installed to serve the maximum 3 bedroom home. The septic tank was installed on the north side of the
house in a landscaped area approximately 20' from the north wall of the house. The 1000 -gallon dual compartment
concrete septic tank was installed with an effluent filter installed in the outlet tee and risers with lids to the surface.
Two new gravity lines from the house to the tank were installed. Cleanouts were installed adjacent to the exterior
walls of the house.
The absorption field was constructed with 2 trenches containing 12 Elgen In -Drain units in each trench. A
distribution box was installed next to the field to equally distribute effluent to the trenches via individual 4"
distribution lines connected at the head of each trench. Inspection ports were installed at each terminal end of the
perforated distribution pipes. The individual trenches were installed level with 6" of concrete sand overlying
suitable native soils below the In -Drain units. Four -inch perforated distribution pipes run along the top center of the
Inn -drain units in each trench. The In -drain units are installed per manufacturer's requirements. The top and
sidewalls of the treatment units, sand layer and distribution pipe is installed in a filter fabric envelope. The trenches
are backfilled over the In -Drain units to a slightly mounded finish grade approximately 18"-24" above the
distribution pipe. The construction was completed utilizing specified materials installed a

All components of the engineered OWS shall be inspected on a regular basis and be properly maintained.
The re establishment of vegetative cover over the field and responsibility for operation, inspection and
maintenance of the system will remain with the Lot Owner or the owners representative. The owner shall
periodically inspect the OWS and perform all maintenance and repairs as necessary to ensure that the
system is in good operating condition and performing as designed.
The OWS should require minimal maintenance, Several factors influencing the need for maintenance
include: actual wastewater flows versus design flows, the volume of kitchen/domestic waste (excluding
human waste and toilet paper), excessive household chemicals and other toxic liquids. The tank, sanitary
tees and effluent filter should be visually inspected bi-annually for clogging debris, damage, leaks, or other
potential problems. In general, for a properly utilized system, septic tanks should be pumped and inspected
every 2 - 4 years. The effluent filter should be cleaned every six months and at the time of pumping.
Absorption fields should be maintained with suitable vegetative cover and kept free of root invasive plants.
Positive surface drainage away from the absorption field should be maintained.

1. ADD A TWO-WAY CLEAN OUT ON THE SERVICE LINE FROM THE HOUSE.
2. ALL MATERIALS AND INSTALLATION SHALL CONFORM TO COUNTY AND
THE STATE OF COLORADO INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE DISPOSAL. SYSTEM (ISDS)
REGULATIONS.
3. ALL SEWER LINES TO BE SDR -35 OF SCHEDULE 40 P.V.C. PIPE UNLESS
NOTED OTHERWISE.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE ALL SEWER LINES AND SEPTIC TANKS
ARE WATERTIGHT. ANY POTENTIAL PLUMBING LEAKS SHALL BE
REPAIRED TO AVOID EXCESSIVE WATER ENTERING THE SEPTIC SYSTEM.
5. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO CONTACT ALL
UTILITY COMPANIES FOR FIELD LOCATIONS OF UTILITIES PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION AND EXCAVATION.
6. THE ABSORPTION TRENCHES MUST BE MARKED AND PROTECTED TO
PREVENT DAMAGE FROM VEHICULAR AND LIVESTOCK TRAFFIC.
7. THE TANK SHALL BE INSTALLED LEVEL ON COMPACTED EARTH. INSTALL
WATERTIGHT RISERS AS NECESSARY TO BRING ALL REQUIRED ACCESS
POINTS TO THE FINISHED SURFACE GRADE USING INSULATED UDS..
INSTALL THE INLET AND OUTLET TEES TO BE EASILY INSPECTED AND
MAINTAINED FROM THE TANK RISERS AND ACCESS LIDS.
8. AN EFFLUENT FILTER SHALL BE INSTALLED IN
THE SECONDARY COMPARTMENT OF THE SEPTIC TANK. FILTER SHALL BE
MAINTAINED WHEN THE TAMC IS PUMPED OR AS NEEDED. INSTALL
SUITABLE COMPONENT EXTENSIONS ON THE FILTER ASSEMBLY TO BE
WITHIN 12" BELOW THE ACCESS UD. WE RECOMMEND A PERIODIC
INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE BE PERFORMED EVERY 6
MONTHS.
8. THE ENTIRE TREATMENT BED SURFACE MUST BE SODDED OR
RE -VEGETATED WITH GROUND COVER.
9. THE TREATMENT FIELD SURFACE MUST BE CROWNED TO DIVERT
SURFACE DRAINAGE AWAY FROM THE BED.
10. THE DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON THE PLAN INDICATE MINIMUM AREA AND
SEPARATION DISTANCES FOR THE OWS COMPONENTS.
11. THE TRENCHES SHALL BE LEVEL WITH DISTRIBUTION PIPES INSTALLED FOR
EQUAL DISTRIBUTION.
12, THE TREATMENT BED SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED WITH T -IE IN -DRAINS
UNITS PLACED WITH A MINIMUM 6" LAYER OF CONCRETE SAND BELOW
AND ALONG THE SIDES OF THE UNITS. FILTER FABRIC SHALL BE
PLACED OVER THE IN -DRAINS, AND DISTRIBUTION PIPE.
13. THE MINIMUM COVER OVER THE TOP OF THE IN --DRAIN UNITS SHALL
BE 12 INCHES NOT TO EXCEED 30". THE TRENCH BOTTOM SURFACE
AND SIDEWALLS SHALL BE SCARIFIED AND RACKED IF SMEARING OCCURS.
14. THE TRENCH IN -DRAIN UNITS WILL BE BACKFILLED TO THE SURFACE
WITH EXCAVATED MATERIAL VOID OF ROCKS. THE BACKFILL MATERIAL
SHALL NOT EXCEED 3" DIAMETER. A MINIMUM 6' DEPTH OF TOPSOIL 15 TO
BE PLACED ABOVE THE BACKFILL TO THE FINISH SURFACE GRADE.
15. VERTICAL INSPECTION PORTS SHALL BE INSTALLED ON THE PERFORATED
DISTRIBUTION PIPE AT THE TERMINAL ENDS OF EACH TRENCH.
16. ALL INSTALLATION OF IN -DRAIN UNITS SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE
WITH THE MANUFACTURES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM NOTES:
1. EFFLUENT FROM THE SEPTIC TANK WILL DISCHARGE TO A DISTRIBUTION
BOX. EFFLUENT WILL BE EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED TO THE TREATMENT
TRENCHES VIA INDIVIDUAL 4" DISTRIBUTION LINES.
2. WE RECOMMEND THE INSTALLATION OF AN ORENCO SYSTEMS 4"
EFFLUENT FILTER CONTAINED IN THE TANK'S 4" OUTLET TEE.
THE FILTER SHOULD BE INSPECTED EVERY SIX MONTHS.
MAINTENANCE SHALL INCLUDE CLEANING THE FILTER EVERY SIX
MONTHS MINIMUM AND AFTER PERIODIC PUMPING OF THE TANK,

SHALL BE SCARIFIED AND RAKED IF SMEARING
OCCURS.
4. THE IN -DRAIN UNITS SHALL BE INSTALLED
LEVEL END TO END WITH THE PAINTED STRIP
FACING UP.
5. INSTALL PERFORATED PIPE OVER THE TOP OF
THE IN -DRAIN UNITS ON CENTER AND SECURE
WITH ONE ELJEN CLAMP PER UNIT.
6. INSTALL FILTER FABRIC OVER PIPE AND TOP
OF IN -DRAINS AND DRAPE DOWN THE SIDES
OF THE IN -DRAIN UNITS. BACKFILL OVER THE
FABRIC WITH CLEAN EXCAVATED FILL MATERIAL.
7. BACKFILL 1N -DRAIN SYSTEM WITH SUITABLE
EXCAVATED FILL FREE OF ROCKS OVER 3
INCHES IN DIAMETER. AVOID EXCESSIVE
COMPACTION OF FILL. AVOID COMPACTION
