Good Morning Bill,
Thank you for the return call. As we discussed, attached are the Civil Engineered Drawings for the fire district's review.
The residence will be fire sprinklered as required for a residence this size. If you have any questions or need more
information, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Patrick

Subject: Callicotte Ranch, Lot 2 - Permit #BLRE-11-17-5044
Uriel:
I am currently reviewing plans you have submitted to our office for a new residence located at Callicotte Ranch, Lot 2.
But before we can finalize our plan review & issue a building permit for this project we need for you to address the
following items:
• Soils Report — Please provide our office with a digital copy of the soils report investigation by HP -Kumar as
referenced in the Structural Engineer's drawings/specs.
• Fire Sprinklers — An automatic fire sprinkler system will be required for this residence as overall fire area
exceeds 6,200 SF (residence + garage + covered decks). Please contact Bill Gavette at Carbondale's Rural Fire
Protection District for specific requirements and approvals. In addition to sign -off from the Fire District for the
fire sprinkler system, we also will require verification that the driveway design & turnaround area comply with
fire requirements. You can contact Bill at (970) 963-2491 or via the email address as included above.
• Septic System — Callicotte Ranch properties require septic systems for individual lots, and you will need to
complete an application for septic system permit prior to issuance of this building permit. Please complete this
application before coming into our office to pick-up your permit and Lindsay or Brooke will add in the costs of
this permit when they call you to let you know that the permit is ready to be picked up (after we receive the
above information from you).
Please provide us with a copy of the soils report at your earliest opportunity so that we can complete our plan review. I
will be in the office through end of day tomorrow, but will then be out of the office until after the first of the year. But if
you could send me the soils report later today, I should be able to finalize your building permit for pick-up before I leave
town for the holidays.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Dave and Uriel,
• Attached is the Soils Report.
• I have noted on the Cover Sheet A0.0 that the residence is to be fire sprinklered. Also attached
is an email string between myself and Bill Gavette noting that he reviewed and approved
the driveway design & turnaround area complying with the fire requirements.
• In addition to the above mentioned attachments, I have attached the septic system application
for Uriel to fill out and take with him when he goes to pick up the Building Permit. Note that the
actual perk tests is stated in the Soils Report and the Design of the Septic System is on Page C.4
of the Civil Engineer's Drawings.
I hope this satisfies your requests. Let me know if you have any addition thoughts
Happy Holidays!
Best Regards,
Patrick
