Access to the proposed residence is adequate for emergency apparatus. 2. A 20,000 gallon underground water storage tank with a dry fire hydrant connection is located adjacent to Lot 3. The water supply exceeds the minimum requirements of NEPA 1142, "Water Supplies for Suburban and Rural Fire Fighting" for the proposed 2,100 square foot residence. No automatic fire sprinklers are required for the proposed new residence. 3. There is currently an adequate wildfire defensible space at the site for the proposed residence. No additional mitigation is necessary. Any new vegetation that is planted within the 30 -foot defensible space zone around the new residence should follow the "FireWise Plant Material" recommendations of the Colorado State Forest Service. Please contact me if you have any questions or if I may be of any assistance. Sincerely, Bill Gavette Deputy Chief Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District 300 Meadowood Drive • Carbondale, CO 81623 • 970-963-2491 Fax 970-963-0569
