After reviewing your new deck/roof project, I realized that you need to provide us with a Structural Engineer's
verification letter that the existing residence will adequately support the new deck roof. Since the weight of the new
roof structure is supported by the existing home, we require that you have an Engineer verify that it is capable of
supporting the new roof loads. Please make arrangements to have an Engineer provide you with an inspection and letter
that you can provide to us certifying compliance with this requirement.
In addition, there are a few other missing items in your building permit application that would be good for you to have
confirmed by an Engineer. Please see the attached drawings which I have marked up with the items requiring further
review or verification.
If you have any questions, please call me or stop by our office to review.
