RE: Structural Observation *ADU Structure -7315 C.R. 312, New Castle, CO,
Dear Mr, Ringer:
Regarding the subject ADU structure, please note the following;
Anderson Structural Engineering, lnc. (ASE)first visited the site on December 2,20t7 to review
the as built framing. Foundation construction was complete and framing was 95% complete at
the time. ASE also reviewed design drawings used for the construction. ASE proceeded to verify
the as built framing for compliance with the 20LS lnternational Residential Code. A
combination of prescriptive design and engineered design details were present. ASE
subsequently produced an as built set of structural drawings and issued that set of stamped
drawings for "Permit" dated 2-28-LB. Design deficiencies were noted on our first site visit
inspection and remedial recommendations were detailed on the Permit drawings. On June 6,
20L8 ASE re-visited the site to verify completion of outstanding details. One item noted was the
location of the ridge support post at the entry wall. The as built condition has the post aligned
with header trimmers and transferring to foundation. Notes on the structural drawings to cut
the headers for uplift are no longer required. All other observed framing was in general
conformance with the design drawings.
The inspections described above were limited to visible observation of exposed structural
elements. No observation of the foundation excavation or construction was performed. No
demolition was conducted to reveal hidden areas. No testing of materials was conducted. No
verification of engineered components by others was performed.
