HomeMy WebLinkAboutOWTS Installation Observations 10.15.18 October 15, 2018 Project No. C1319 Brett Smith mauibuilthomes@gmail.com Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations Lot 22 Stirling Ranch Garfield County, Colorado SEPT-10-17-4987 Brett, ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OW TS) on September 4, 2018 for the subject property. Native Excavation installed the system. While there were multiple design documents associated with the proposed system, the original design dated September 16, 2017 was installed. The system installation included a 1500-gallon, two-compartment Infiltrator® poly septic tank with an effluent filter on the outlet tee. This effluent filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed. Risers were used to bring access to the manhole lids to grade. Effluent gravity flows to a distribution box, which was accessible from grade. Speed Levelers were installed in the distribution box to assure equal distribution to each trench. The soil treatment area (STA) consists of four rows of 16 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers for a total of 64 chambers and 768 square feet of infiltrative area. The infiltrative area was installed between 2 and 4-feet below grade. There was at least 6-feet of undisturbed soil between each trench. Inspection ports were placed at both the beginning and end of each trench. These ports were cut to grade and covered with a sprinkler box for access. The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions.
