TEMPORARY CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Dear Mr. & Mrs, Sims:
Garfield County uses the 1988 Uniform Building code and other associated codes as the basis
of the County Building Code. Section 305(d) requires the following:
"There shall be a final inspection and approval of all buildings and structures when
completed and ready for occupancy and use".
A final inspection can only be made and considered complete when the final grading and the
structure has been inspected and is in compliance with the building code,

By this letter, we are finding that no substantial hazard will result from the occupancy of the
building and will suffice as a temporary Certificate of Occupancy. That, if within 120 clays
from the date of this letter, the final grading is not completed and inspected by this office, you
will be in violation of the County Building Code and may be cited for illegally occupying a
building prior to a final inspection being completed.
