Subject: Structural Changes for the Cuc Shop, Lot 2 Coke Ovens Expansion Subdivision,
City of Glenwood Springs, Garfield County, Colorado.
Dear Building Inspector:
AEE has submitted an engineered design dated 10-4-16 for structural framing and
foundation for the structure described above. I have performed an on-site inspection on
October 2, 2017 of the main level floor framing structural concrete slab preparation. Per
owner and contractor request, it is permissible to replace the originally specified #5 rebar
turned into the structural slab with #3 rebar elbows (24" each leg) tied to the standard
slab grid rebar @ 18" O.C. (all four wall edges) and turned up into the future second level
wall pour. It is also permissible to reduce the lower level vertical wall rebar to #4 @ 24"
O.C. at the side walls where final unbalanced soil retainage is no more than five feet.
(This work is already complete and was inspected by AEE during July 2017). It is my
opinion that this assembly is adequate to support all applied loads as per the Garfield
County Building Code.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
