A. Storage Building #12- Garfield County Permit 1092
I reviewed the field copy of the approved Garfield County drawings for this
building. Drawing 13436-931-0520 Rev. 0 details the 8- #4 bars at the perimeter
with #3 ties on 12" centers. The East wall slab reinforcement was located within
1-1/2" of the perimeter formwork. OPD employees cut off these ends prior to my
departure from the site and I verified that this condition was corrected. The 6 mil
vapor barrier was installed as per plan. 4- 3/4"x16" anchor bolts were installed at
each corner of the building.
Drawing 13436-930-D0080B Rev. 2- Detail G notes the concrete encased
electrode detail. This grounding detail was noted at both the North and South side
of the foundation.
Reinforcement was placed as per the drawings and is in compliance with IBC
2003 Table 1907.7.1.

confirm that the layout of the building foundation in relation to the plant grid or

B. Compressor Building- Garfield County Permit 1067
Formwork and reinforcement was in place and ready for inspection for Column
Lines 9.5 to 5.5 and Grids A through D. This is a partial inspection as this
building foundation is being poured in phases.
I reviewed the field copy of the approved Garfield County drawings for this
building. Drawing 13436-931-0523A Rev. 0 details the footings with #7
reinforcement in the bottom of the footing and #4 reinforcement in the top of the
footing. The footing size at the mainframe columns is 5'x8'-6" x 20" deep. Each
footing is noted as having 8- #7 verts extending into the pilasters with #4 ties at
12" on center.
The drawing details the foundation wall at 9 feet in height and 24" in width.
There are 2 mats of #5 reinforcement at 12" on center within the wall.
4- 3/4"x16" anchor bolts were installed at each pilaster location.
Reinforcement was placed as per the drawings and is in compliance with IBC
2003 Table 1907.7.1.
I additionally inspected 4- 4" drain pipes located at the following locations:
Column Line 8.5- Grid A
Column Line 8.5- Grid D
Column Line 6.5- Grid A
Column Line 6.5- Grid D
Each of the drain pipes were extended a minimum of 4' above finish floor and
were full of water. This is the pressure test protocol agreed upon with David
Mead- Garfield County Building Official in regards to the testing of these drain
pipes. No leaking was observed at the elbows exposed below grade.
I instructed Joe Jurek that he could proceed with pouring footings and foundation
walls for Column Lines 9.5 to 5.5 and Grids A through D immediately. I had
previously confirmed with David Mead- Garfield County Building Official, at
approximately Noon, that I was authorized to conduct this inspection and approve
the concrete pour.
Exclusions: Phil Vaughan did not verify the anchor bolt layout nor did he
confirm that the layout of the building foundation in relation to the plant grid or
elevation.
