HomeMy WebLinkAboutOWTS Installation Observations 02.17.19 February 17, 2019 Project No. C1297 Ryan Pratt Rpratt2311@gmail.com Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations Lot A, Panorama Reserve Garfield County, Colorado Permit Number SEPT-06-17-4764 Ryan, ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OW TS) on December 12 and 29, 2018 for the subject property. Advanced Underground installed the system. The configuration of the soil treatment area (STA) was modified from our original design due to large rocks on the area of the proposed STA. We met with the owner and installer and approved the alternative design prior to installation. Design Calculations (STA): 75 GPD x 2 people/bedroom x 3 bedrooms + 150 GPD (4th and 5th bedrooms) = 600 GPD 600 GPD / 0.5 gal/SF = 1200 SF 1200 SF x 1.2 (gravity, bed) x 0.7 (chamber) = 1008 SF The installation included a new 1500-gallon, two-compartment Norwesco® poly septic tank with an Orenco® Biotube Effluent Filter on the outlet tee. This filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed. Effluent gravity flows from the septic tank to a distribution box, which was accessible from grade. Flow equalizers were installed on each pipe exiting the distribution box to equalize flow to each trench. The STA consists two beds, each with 3 rows of 12 ‘ARC 36’ chambers, for a total area of 1080 square feet of infiltrative area. Each row was individually plumbed from the distribution box. There was at least 6-feet of undisturbed soil between the beds. Inspection ports must be installed at both the beginning and end of each trench. These ports may be cut to grade and covered with a sprinkler box for access. The OW TS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions.
