Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
3644 Hwy 82
Garfield County, Colorado
Permit Number SEPT -04-18-5232
Chris,
Project No. C1369
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS)
on May 8, May 23, and June 19, 2018 and March 14, 2019 for the subject property. You, the property
owner, installed the system.
The installation included a 1500 -gallon, two-compartment Valley Precast concrete septic tank with an
Orenco® ProPak and PF5005 pump in the second compartment. Floats were set to dose approximately
75 gallons per pump cycle, allowing for approximately 4 gallons of drain back after each pump cycle.
The control panel for the pumping system is located in the garage. Valley Precast out of Buena Vista
performed start-up of the pumping system.
The inlet tee of the septic tank is angled sideways. It is functional; however, we recommend
straightening the tee for proper long-term functioning.
Effluent is pressure dosed through a 1.5 -inch diameter pump line from the septic tank to the soil
treatment area (STA). The STA consists of a chamber bed with four rows of 8 'ARC' ADS chambers for
a total of 32 chambers and 480 square feet of infiltrative area.
Effluent is pressure dosed to a 1.5 -inch diameter level manifold and 1.5 -inch diameter laterals, which
were hung with zip ties from the underside of the chambers. Laterals have 5/32 -inch diameter orifices
facing up, with the exception of the first and last holes facing down for drainage. We recommend
Orenco® Orifice Shields be placed on the downward facing orifices. The orifices were placed 2 -feet on
center. Each lateral ends in a 90 degree ell facing up with a ball valve for flushing. Valves were placed
in a valve box and must be accessible from grade. Inspection ports were placed at each corner of the
chamber bed. Ports may be cut to grade and covered with a valve box for access.
At the time of our last inspection, final grading around the OWTS components had not been completed.
Drainage must be diverted around the septic tank. The STA cover has not been cleared of large rocks.
The cover should be graded in a way to promote drainage around the STA. All large rock (larger than 3 -
inch minus) must be cleaned from the STA and additional soil spread on top of the STA to support
vegetative growth. We recommend seeding and watering lightly to establish hearty, native grasses.
Once established, watering should not be necessary.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS:
Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC

Do Your Part, Be SepticSmart:
The Do's and Don'ts of Your Septic System
Learn these simple steps to protect your home, health, environment and property value:
septicsmart
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Do:
• Have your system inspected (in general) every three years by a licensed contractor
and have the tank pumped, when necessary, generally every three to five years.
Don't:
• Pour cooking grease or oil down the
sink or toilet.
• Rinse coffee grounds into the sink.
• Pour household chemicals down the
sink or flush them.
Do:
• Eliminate or limit the use of a garbage
disposal.
• Properly dispose of coffee grounds a
food.
• Put grease in a container to harden
before discarding in the trash.
Don't:
• Flush non -degradable products or
chemicals, such as feminine hygiene
products, condoms, dental floss,
diapers, cigarette butts, cat litter, paper
towels, pharmaceuticals.
Do:
• Dispose of these items in the trash can!
Don't:
• Park or drive on your drainfield. The
weight can damage the drain lines.
• Plant trees or shrubs too close to your
drainfield, roots can grow into your
system and clog it.
Do:
• Consult a septic service professional to
advise you of the proper distance for
planting trees and shrubs, depending on
your septic tank location.
Don't
• Concentrate your water use by using
your dishwasher, shower, washing
machine, and toilet at the same time.
All that extra water can really strain
your septic system.
Do:
• Stagger the use of water -generating
appliances. This can be helpful
especially if your system has not been
pumped in a long time.
• Become more water efficient by fixing
plumbing leaks and consider installing
bathroom and kitchen faucet aerators
and water -efficient products.
