This letter is to verify that I did the engineering of the
David Iuele residence and am satisfied that the basement
walls as designed are adequate for the loads to which they will be
subjected. Both sides of the walls will be backfilled to
the basement floor level and therefore will not be subjected
to excessive bending loads.
I have enclosed a letter provided me by the State of
Colorado that may be of interest.
Sincerely,
Ernest C Delto, architect

We have received several questions and concerns about the acceptance of Architect or
Professional Engineer seals by building officials on building plans and specifications.
The concerns) indicate that there may be some confusion on the part cif building official's
regarding which seal, Architect or Professional Engineer, should be accepted by
building officials.
In order to clarify the issue, we remind you that either seal is appropriate, with neither
one nor the other holding precedence. The Colorado Revised Statutes, specifically
Section 30-28-205, state that plans and specifications shall bear the seal of an
Architect S?J3 Professional Engineer licensed by the State of Colorado when such
plans and specifications conform to the regulations and restrictions in the building code.
Therefore, the Colorado law treats each seal equally under those circumstances.
if there ate; any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either of our Boards,
