Jim Wilson Garfield Building and Planning 108 8th Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 May 3, 2016 This letter is to verify that I did the engineering of the David Iuele residence and am satisfied that the basement walls as designed are adequate for the loads to which they will be subjected. Both sides of the walls will be backfilled to the basement floor level and therefore will not be subjected to excessive bending loads. I have enclosed a letter provided me by the State of Colorado that may be of interest. In order to clarify the issue, we remind you that either seal is appropriate, with neither one nor the other holding precedence. The Colorado Revised Statutes, specifically Section 30-28-205, state that plans and specifications shall bear the seal of an Architect S?J3 Professional Engineer licensed by the State of Colorado when such plans and specifications conform to the regulations and restrictions in the building code.
