GENERAL CONTRACTOR: Bart Victor BUILDING TYPE Pre -Engineered Metal Building WALL TYPE: Steel INSPECTION DATES: August 20 through August 21, 2019 DESCRIPTION OF INSPECTION WORK PERFORMED: Special inspection for Installation of A325 high- strength bolts at steel -to -steel connections as required by local building jurisdiction. REMARKS FOR INSPECTION ACTIVITIES: 8-20-2019 Provide special inspection of high strength bolting for pre-engineered metal building to be used as a future auto museum. Upon first Inspection visit, it was determined that the A-325 bolts In this building were to be snug tight only. Full tensioning of A-325 bolts was not required. As the building red iron frame was fully erected prior, the AISC defined arbitration method was used to determine if bolts in each connection point were fully snug tight. As I progressed from connection point to connection point It was observed the many of the bolts were not fully snug tight and an ironworker was dispatched to tighten each connection in my presence and direct witness. It was also observed that several locations were missing bolts. 8-21-2019 Second inspection visit. Continued work to complete tensioning of bolts to snug tight condition and to ensure locations where prior inspection noted missing bolts were now corrected. At the close of today's inspection visit the structure was fully checked for A-325 Installed and tightened to plan specifications. No other discrepancies were noted and the work of bolt installation and tightening to snug condition is in full compliance with approved plans and applicable codes. REMARKS SUMMARY: SPECIAL INSPECTION ON THIS PROJECT WAS PERFORMED IN ACCORD WITH THE SPECIAL INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS ADOPTED FROM THE 2018 IBC FOR THE GARFIELD COUNTY COLORADO BUILDING JURISDICTION AS PART OF APPROVED PLANS. ALL WORK REFERENCED ABOVE WITNESSED BY INDUSTRIAL INSPECTION SERVICES PERSONNEL, PERFORMED AUGUST 20th THROUGH AUGUST 21' 2019, WAS SATISFACTORILY COMPLETED AND CONFORMS TO THE APPROVED PLANS, THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODES (IBC), AND THE AISC MANUAL OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION (9TH EDITION). THIS STATEMENT APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THOSE PORTIONS OF THE STRUCTURE WHICH SPECIAL INSPECTION WAS PRESCRIBED TO PROVIDE CODE DEFINED SNUG -TIGHT CONDITION OF A-325 STRUCTURAL BOLTS.
