Subj: "Sturdi-Lok" Wall Panel Installation Guidelines
The "sturdi-Lok'Wall System is a Pre-Fabricated form of a Post-Frame structure. 4-Ply Vertical Posts are formed
when 2 panels are joined together for vertical strength. Appropriate sized headers are built into the top of all
panels. Horizontal purlins and diagonal bracing are nailed and plated into position throughout the panels giving
them incredible strength for shear and racking. A double bottom plate, which is treated and plated to the rest of the
panel also gives far more hold-down strength than traditional framing. All panels conform to traditional framing
codes for size/length of unsupported material. And, the 4-ply posts that are formed, B' O.C. or less, give "Sturdi-
Lok" walls the ability to use pole barn specs for greater heights than stick framing allows, since we have plated a
rigid paneì resistant to the twist found in traditional framing. The use of a Truss Design Program (Mitek) is to
create the wall size, shape, and cut list for manufacturing. All other design criteria within the program have no
bearing on the functionality of the panel system and is "NOT" part of the engineering used. Mitek has no part of the
engineering of these wall panels, but simply allows LOOK Buildings to use the program as stated above.
Here are some general guidelines to follow for installation;
Wall Panels shall be assembled off-site according to Mitek wood steel-plated truss assembly standardsa

Standard B'wide panels shall be anchored with minimum [2) 'l.f 2" anchor bolts or equivalent.
All panels shall be attached to each other using 6" structural screws fSimpson SDWHL9 or equivalent)
Screws shall be placed Zea.24" O.C. starting L2" from bottom of the panels.
A "Very Top Plate" shall be attached over the wall panels. Splicing shall be within the panels and not at the
same location as where 2 panels meet.
The top of all panels shall be attached to a rigid roof for floor) diaphragm, such as a pre-engineered wood
truss package (with manufactured purlin panels and metal roofingJ, at maximum 4' O.C. with appropriate
Huricane Clips at eaves and LTPS clips at gables (or a 2X ceiling nailer attached to the gable end wall and
nailed to bottom of gable truss). AII lateral and diagonal bracing shall be installed as per truss
manufacturer. Engineered truss drawings shall be provided.
Panels shall be skinned on the exterior with a minimum 29 ga. Corrugated metal sheathing attached with
#1"0x1.5" screws @ 9" O.C. horizontal and24" O.C. vert.
Modifications to the wall panels shall be allowed, as long as the posts formed when panels attached are not
disturbed. The header on top of the panel and the top diagonals shall not be disturbed without consulting
LOOK Buildings.
