Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
55 Faranhyll Ranch Road
Garfield County, Colorado
Permit Number SEPT-4-14-3188
Randy,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS)
on September 21, 2018 and August 14, 2019 for the subject property. Tom McGee installed the system.
The existing 2-bedroom residence is served by an existing OWTS. The OWTS consists of a 1250-gallon,
two-compartment concrete septic tank followed by 4 rows of 6 Eljen A42 Modules. Garfield County
Septic Permit SEPT-4-14-3188 documents this system. The OWTS was sized to accommodate 3-
bedrooms; therefore, no additional capacity to accommodate the 1-bedroom additional dwelling unit
(ADU) was necessary. However, to avoid disturbing the concrete slab in the driveway, a new septic tank
was installed to serve the proposed ADU and effluent pumped to the existing OWTS.
The setback from the well to the new septic tank was verified greater than 50-feet.
The installation included a new 1000-gallon, Valley Precast concrete septic tank with an Orenco® ProPak
and PF3005 pump in the second compartment. The septic tank was set at an elevation that allows a
minimum 2% fall from the house sewer line and a minimum 1% for drain back of the pump line. Floats
were set to dose approximately 60 gallons per pump cycle, allowing for approximately 9 gallons of drain
back after each pump cycle. The control panel for the pumping system is located within line of sight of
the septic tank. Valley Precast out of Buena Vista performed start-up of the pumping system on August
26, 2019.
The pump line was 2.0-inches in diameter and had a minimum 1% grade for drain back into the septic
tank after each pump cycle. The pump line wyes into the existing 4-inch diameter sewer line just before it
enters the septic tank. This wye must enter the 4-inch pipe at the high point of the pump line.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS:
Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,
