Mick:
I am currently reviewing plans for a new S.F. residence for Jody Daniels to be located at 1365 Quicksilver Court in Rifle.
However, before we can approve these plans we need to receive additional structural information as described in our
"Building Permit Application Checklist" and as described below:
A. Framing Plans - lncluding each floor level and roof. All beams, columns, joists, rafters and trusses specified
B. Framing Details - lncluding connections, braced wall lines, shear wall schedule, location and hold-downs.
Please provide us with this additional information at your earliest opportunity so that we can finalize our review and
issue a building permit.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, Garfield County does not issue stand-alone foundation or septic system permits.
We need to have a completed application before we can approve a building permit, and septic systems are not
permitted without a companion building permit.
However, once we have approved the completed building + septic permits, you are free to choose to only complete a
portion of the construction work before winter sets in and then resume work next spring as conditions allow.

Dave, thanks for the follow up. I would like to know if we can just get the foundation and septic approved this
fall and follow up on the framing issues next spring, due to the weather would make framing too expensive in
the winter? Let me know. I could pay all the fees now if that would help and have a conditional permit only on
septic system and foundation if that'works for the county ?
