Unsafe Buildings
I called Brian Kurtz regarding his inspections of the buildings in question. I asked
if the buildings were about to fall down. Brian said they all were having issues
with subsidence and sub grade issues. He said the unit on 268 Scarrow was in the
worst shape and could collapse with a combination of wind and snow loads. He
added that any additional subsidence could also cause a problem. We discussed
options and he concluded he would send David Hicks a letter suggesting some
shoring or temporary bracing be installed to support the unit on 268 Scarrow.
Brian did say the building appeared to not be occupied but did have a bunch of
junk in it.
