The engineer's report established differential foundation settlement with all 4 structures. In conversations with the engineer, additional settlement and/or a combination of other physical loads could cause anyone of these buildings to collapse. With the coming of the possibility of snow loaded conditions, these structures collapsing would be a large life safety issue. Any further settlement from last summer could also be a problem. Please provide the Garfield County Building Department with an updated engineer's report of these buildings. Any buildings determined to be unsafe must be taken down and removed or made safe as per Section 116 Unsafe Structures and Equipment of the 2009 International Building Code adopted by the Garfield County. We look forward to your continued cooperation in a timely manner. Please call with any questions. Regards, Andy Schwaller Building Official Garfield County 1
