Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
1558 CR 129
Garfield County, Colorado
Permit Number SEPT-09-19-5972
Sarah,
Project No. C1450
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS)
on April 17, 2020 for the subject property. Tally Ho installed the system.
A 4-bedroom, single-family residence presently exists on the property. A 1-bedroom additional dwelling
unit (ADU) is proposed above the garage. Plumbing from the ADU ties into interior plumbing of the main
house. Our inspection point began beyond the existing berm at the existing sewer line. A new tank was
installed to accommodate the additional capacity necessary to accommodate the 1-bedroom ADU and
square footage was added to the existing STA.
The existing 1250-gallon septic tank was abandoned by pumping and crushing the top and filling the void
with onsite material. The contractor preferred to leave one side wall of the existing septic tank so as not
to affect installation of the new septic tank. A new, 1500-gallon, two -compartment Infiltrator® septic tank
with an effluent filter was installed. This filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed.
A new distribution box was installed. The contractor had not installed the flow equalizers, or similar
product, at the time of our inspection. Plumbing out of the distribution box connects to the new and old
parts of the soil treatment area.
The existing STA consists of 31 `Standard' Infiltrator® chambers and a total of 581.25 square feet of
infiltrative area. Two rows of 8 'ARC ADS' chambers were installed to the north of the existing STA.
Trenches were separated by at least 4-feet of undisturbed soil. Inspection ports were installed at the
beginning and end of each trench. Ports may be cut to grade and placed in sprinkler boxes for access.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are
made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county
regulations.
LIMITS:
Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must
have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in
which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil
type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC

Do Your Part, Be SepticSmart:
The Do's and Don'ts of Your Septic System
Learn these simple steps to protect your home, health, environment and property value:
septicsmart
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Do:
• Have your system inspected (in general) every three years by a licensed contractor
and have the tank pumped, when necessary, generally every three to five years.
Don't:
• Pour cooking grease or oil down the
sink or toilet.
• Rinse coffee grounds into the sink.
• Pour household chemicals down the
sink or flush them.
Do:
• Eliminate or limit the use of a garbage
disposal.
• Properly dispose of coffee grounds a
food.
• Put grease in a container to harden
before discarding in the trash.
Don't:
• Flush non -degradable products or
chemicals, such as feminine hygiene
products, condoms, dental floss,
diapers, cigarette butts, cat litter, paper
towels, pharmaceuticals.
Do:
• Dispose of these items in the trash can!
Don't:
• Park or drive on your drainfield. The
weight can damage the drain lines.
• Plant trees or shrubs too close to your
drainfield, roots can grow into your
system and clog it.
Do:
• Consult a septic service professional to
advise you of the proper distance for
planting trees and shrubs, depending on
your septic tank location.
Don't
• Concentrate your water use by using
your dishwasher, shower, washing
machine, and toilet at the same time.
All that extra water can really strain
your septic system.
Do:
• Stagger the use of water -generating
appliances. This can be helpful
especially if your system has not been
pumped in a long time.
• Become more water efficient by fixing
plumbing leaks and consider installing
bathroom and kitchen faucet aerators
and water -efficient products.
