The findings of our observations and testing are presented in this report. The services were performed in accordance with our agreement for professional engineering services to Uriel Mellin, dated October 7, 2019. Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical (now Kumar & Associates) conducted a geotechnical study for the subject lot development and presented the fmdings in a report dated March 21, 2016, Job No. 116 043A. When observed on October 7, the perimeter foundation excavation was in progress. The building excavation had been cut between 3 and 7 feet below the original ground surface. The soils exposed at the bottom of the excavation consisted of firm sandy silty clay. Compaction tests were then performed on structural backfill placed between October 9 and 11. The test results, presented in the attached Earthwork Compaction Testing Reports, indicate acceptable structural fill compaction suitable for support of spread footings sized for the recommended allowable bearing pressure of 1,200 psf.
