However, before we can finalize our review and issue permits we need for the following items to be addressed: A. Soils Report — Please provide us with a digital copy of the soils report as referenced on the Engineer's foundation plans. B. Floor Framing & Roof Framing Plans — Please provide (2) copies of these plans including specifications for the roof trusses. C. Wall Section/DetaiUsi — Please provide us with a wall or building section showing construction assemblies (wall/floor/roof). D. Roof between Storage Containers — Provide us with additional information about the roof installed between your temporary storage containers — including overall size, roof framing/spacing and support posts, etc. Has this roof structure been reviewed or designed by an Engineer? If not, we may require that an Engineer review for structural fitness. Please provide us with this requested information at your earliest opportunity so that we can finalize our plan review & issue permits for your project. Dave Argo Plans Examiner C. Can you please try re -sending it to my email address as provided below? If you can provide us with (2) copies of the floor framing & roof truss layout plans and drop these off at our office, I think that will suffice on the additional drawings required to approve your building permit application for the house. You are correct that the Engineer already included a wall section on the foundation plan sheet. I also wanted to ask you about the storage containers. If these are only going to be used on a temporary basis throughout construction of the residence they won't require a building permit. In that scenario, we will note that they be removed prior to final building inspection & Certificate of Occupancy. On the other hand, if your intention is for them to remain on site after the construction of the home is completed, they will require a building permit of their own. And if that's the case, we will require structural anchorage at the base of the containers as well as roof structure above these containers — and this will need to be provided by a Structural Engineer. If you can let me know a little more about your intent with these storage units, we can finalize our review as appropriate once you have submitted the other items described above. I had only planned on using them temporarily while building. They have been super helpful so I have been contemplating keeping them but not sure I want to keep the current setup. I know I would want to sell one of the containers and possibly go to 2 high cube containers for the added interior height. I have also thought about building a different style roof so I can park equipment underneath. My thought is the cost of the engineering, roofing, etc may be getting close to just putting in a metal building. That being said, I am thinking this will be temporary while building. Once the house is completed and I can focus on another task I will decide what to do moving forward. On Tue, Jun 16, 2020, 11:58 AM Dave Argo <dargo[a1 arfield-countv.com> wrote: Tony. At this time, I am not going to issue a building permit for the container storage units since it sounds like there is high probability you will be moving these off -site at conclusion of the cabin's construction. As described in my previous email, these units will need to be removed before we can perform our final building inspection and issue a Certificate of Occupancy for the cabin. If you change your mind and decide that you want these container storage units to be permanently installed, you will need to re -apply for a building permit. Your permit application should include foundation/tie-down specifications and roof structure design above the storage units — both of which need to be prepared by a Colorado licensed Structural Engineer. After I pick up your latest plan amendments & finalize my review, you can expect to get a call from Lindsay later today with final balances due and pick up instructions. Thanks again for your assistance & good luck with your project. As far as the roof between the containers. They are 2x10, 20ft long, 16in on center with 5/8 plywood on top. One container is a 40ft high cube and the other is a standard height. The roof rests on both containers and has a slope from the taller container to the shorter one.Do you need something drawn up? There should have been wall plans included on the engineered foundation plans. I have attached the flooring plan and truss plans. I can have them printed and run them down asap.
