To Whom It May Concern,
CENSPACE, has reviewed the proposed addition to the garage/shop at the above referenced
address. The purpose of the addition is to enclose an existing covered porch. The foundation for
the enclosure will not be supporting any roof structure. The roof over this area is already
supported by columns and beams that are already in place. These supporting elements are to
remain unchanged. The enclosure will consist of new foundation to support 2x fill in framed
walls. The specifications of the new foundation are listed below:
1. 8" wide x 36 inch deep (frost depth) grade beam.
2. (2) #4 x continuous rebar in the top and bottom of the grade beam.
3. #4 verticals at 36" on center spacing.
4. No footing is required as the grade beam is not supporting any structure other than fill
in framing.
5. The slab on grade to be poured in this enclosure is to be isolated from the grade beam.
The grade beam may be stepped down at door openings to allow the slab to be poured
over the top of the grade beam.
