The findings of our observations and test results are presented in this report. We previously provided updated findings of a subsoil study conducted on the site for foundation design in a report dated June 18, 2019, Project No. 19-7-337. The residence will be 1 and 2 -story construction supported on spread footings placed on 3 feet of compacted structural fill sized for an allowable bearing pressure of 2,500 psf. At the time of our initial visit to the site, the foundation excavation had been cut in one level from 4 to 6 feet below the adjacent perimeter ground surface including 3 feet of sub -excavation depth. The soils exposed in the bottom of the excavation had been moistened and compacted and consisted of sandy silty clay. No free water was encountered in the excavation and the soils were slightly moist to moist. Results of in-place moisture -density tests taken on the clay soils placed as structural fill below footing areas, presented in the attached Earthwork Compaction Testing Reports, indicate adequate compaction at near optimum moisture content. The soil conditions exposed in the excavation are consistent with those previously encountered on the site and suitable for support of spread footings placed on the compacted structural fill designed for the allowable bearing pressure of 2,500 psf. Loose disturbed soils in the footing areas should be moistened and compacted. The bearing soils should be protected from frost and concrete should not be placed on frozen soils. Other recommendations presented in our previous report which are applicable should also be observed.
