I am currently reviewing plans for new residences to be located at Lot 51 & Lot 52 up at Pinyon Mesa, and your office
has provided Structural Engineering for both of these new homes. After reviewing soils reports for both of these lots as
provided by HP Kumar, it is clear that HP is calling for 36" of structural fill below foundations at both lots, but your
drawings do not specifically make reference to this requirement.
Although you state on your plans that the Geotech Engineer is to perform an open -hole inspection prior to concrete
pour, it has been my experience that Structural Engineers will typically and specifically identify 36"
minimum structural
fill requirements on their drawings and/or specifications to coincide with the soils report. Can youplease get back to
me to clarify, and if you have any addendum language or supplemental details that address this issue please forward
those on to me for inclusion with the approved building permit plan set.
