A representative of Huddleston Berry Engineering and Testing (HBET) arrived on site as requested to
perform pot hole observation under the direction of Mike Berry PE of HBET. Upon arrival roughly 11-
11:30 am we were informed that the mini excavator would not be on site until 1PM. When the
excavator arrived we pot holed the south-east and north-west corners of the building as there were
concrete forms in place for the foundation to be poured the following day. Care was taken by the
operator of the excavator not to disturb the soils under the building footprint. Each of the areas noted
were excavated to a depth of 3' feet below the foundation. Large size pit run material (cobbles being
12" or larger) was observed the full depth. A leveling course of 1/4" minus material was observed over
the pit run. Mike Berry PE was notified of our findings.
