RE: About Soapstone - Norsk Kleber AS
Jody:
your subdivision has a specific plat note addressing wood-burning appliances as follows
?t{o opot r€¡Fl}t îOu$-run Fnfft¡cEs tr ãË AtrgrED lflYAl{EË lttH*t rHE flrsoßr$ff{,

What this verbiage means is that you are allowed a maximum of (L) wood-burning fuel appliance - but not an open-
hearth unit - and it must meet the EPA Phase lll requirements for emissions. I suggest that you have your supplier
confirm compliance with these requirements prior to purchasing from them. Our Building lnspector may ask to see
supporting documentation if they have questions about the device.
Thanks for your inquiry

Good morn¡ng Dave.. when is it ok to use a wood stove in Garfield county or not? I wanted to install heat
pump/electriCas primary but thought maybe this soap stove could be a good back up. What is the rule?
Thanks Jody
