We recognize that design professionals have a certain reluctance to perform "inspections" as a result of liability insurance companies feedback to their clients. However, because of the specialty nature of this structure and the equipment conta¡ned within it, our building inspectors can't really perform the same level of inspections that we can on a single-family residence, a much more common building type here in Garfield County. Essentially, we'd like to have an Engineering sign-off letter (or Field Observation Report, if you prefer) that work at the job site is in accordance with the design drawings, specifications and manufacturer's requirements. This is similar in nature to us requiring an Engineer's final report for installation of an engineered septic system. Hope that helps clarify our intent with this particular condition of permit, but please call if we need to discuss further. This is not something we've seen before, and in speaking with Lindsey it appears that it may be specific to this project. ls there a particular criteria you are looking for or standard that must be met? As engineers, we generally would not 'inspect' things for legal reasons, and I assume the contractor would normally be subject to getting proper inspections by the county. Can you clarify what the intent is? 1
