4) WILDFIRE MITIGATION REOUIREMENTS: COMPLY WITH WILDFIRE MITIGATION
AND DEFENSIBLE SPACE REOUIREMENTS PER COLORADO STATE FOREST SERVICE
AND LOCAL FIRE DISTRICT.
5) OPEN-HOLE SOTLS REPORT REOUTRED AT FOOTING TNSPECTTON TO VERIFY 1.5OO
PSF SOIL BEARING CAPACITY, PROVIDE COPY OF ENGINEER'S REPORT FOR
BUILDING INSPECTOR REVIEW AT FOOTING INSPECTION.
ó) PRE-ENGTNEERED ROOF TRUSSES. HAVE ENGINEERING FOR TNSPECTOR AT TIME
OF FRAME INSPECTION.

CONTRACTOR TO BE AWARE OF GARFIELD COUNTY BUILDING AMENDMENTAS
FOLLOWS:
26. Section R403.3 is amended to read as follows:
R403.3 Frost protecfetl shalk¡w fuunrlatious. For buildings where the monthly mcan
temperature of the building is maintained at a minimum of 64 degree F, footings are not
required to extend below the frost line when protected from frost by ìnsulation in
accordance with Figure R403.3 (1) and Table R403.3( I ). Foundations prutected from frost
in accordance with Figure R403.3(1) and Table R403.3(l) shall not be used for unhsatsd
spaËes such as porcheso utility roomsr gaxages and carports, and shall not be attached to
basements or ctawl spaces that are not maintaincd at a minimum mean temperature of 64
degree F. Minimum Air Freeze index for Ga¡ficld County for frost protected sh¡llow
foundation design is 2,500 F-days. Materials used below grade for the purposo of insulating
footings against frost shall be labeled as complying with ASTM C578.
