On April 15, 2021, we visited the VanBuskirk Residence at 277 County Road 227 near Rifle in
Garfield County, Colorado to observe the Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) installation
pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-6536. At the time of our site visit, the contractor had installed a new
effluent line, a new manifold, and the four-row chamber bed. The manifold and chambers were installed
level. The four chamber rows consisted of 13 ARC 36 chambers per row, for 52 total chambers and a
total STA of 780 ft2. At the time of our first inspection, the existing septic tank was in a state of disrepair.
The contractor temporarily repaired the existing tank. The homeowner opted to replace the existing tank.
We visited the site on June 23, 2021, to observe the installation of the new tank. The contractor had
installed the new 1,500-gallon, two compartment poly tank and made connections to the existing sewer
line from the residence and to the effluent line to the new STA. The tank was installed level, with access
to grade, and an effluent filter in the outlet tee. In our opinion, this system was installed in general
conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield County
Environmental Health is required regarding this permit. Please provide an As-Built drawing of the system,
when available, for our files.
