Garfield County Development has requested certification of the design pressures for new natural gas pipelines. This certification must be done by a Professional Engineer registered within the state of Colorado. ASME Design Pressure Formula: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code for Pressure Piping (ASME 83L-8-20L8) was used for calculating the design pressure, which is the calculated allowable design pressure of the system. Section 841" Steel Pipe has a steel pipe design pressure formula (Section 841.L.L). P = 2St FET D Where: P = design pressure (psi) 5 = pipe yield strength (ps¡) 1 = pipe wallthickness (in) g = pipe outside diameter (in) F = design factor E = longitudinaljoint factor T = temperature derating factor The input variables for each pipeline and the associated calculations were provided by Caerus, double-checked against the values provided in the ASME standard, and are detailed in the attached spreadsheet. I Results Ten pipe segments were analyzed using the design pressure formula from ASME 831-8-2018 and the results are in Table 1 below. Table 1: Design Pressure Pipeline Design Pressure (psi) L2-inch G35 pad to N23CDP L,529 4-inch G35 pad to Divide Road ROW 4,382 l2-inch G35 remote frac pad to F26 lntersection L,02O 6-inch G35 remote frac pad to G35 pad L3,563 12-inch 826 pad to N23CDP 1,529 6-inch F26 remote frac pad to 826 pad L3,563 L0-inch N23CDP to F26 lntersection 2,825 L0-inch N23CDP to F26 lntersection 2,825 L2-inch N23CDP to F26 lntersection 1.,529 4-inch F26 remote frac pad to N23CDP 4,382 Conclusions: KLJ agrees with Caerus's choice of design variables and the specified pipe materials for each line/application. The actual operating pressure of these Caerus systems will be well below the calculated allowable design pressure. Further, each of these pipelines will be hydrotested as part of Caerus's pipef ine construction quality assurance program. <<51 <#L I Please let me know if you have further questions, 41216 Sincerely, Marc Kenney, PE Enclosure(s): Calculation Spreadsheets, Select Pages from ASME 83L-8-2018 KU Project #: 2LO7-00252.Lt KU
