RappLittleton, CO 80120RE: Our Fíl-e No. 77-98Dear Sírs:After inspecting Ëhe locaËÍon of your proposed minÍng operation andconsidering the síËe and subsequent discussions iÈ appears to me thatit, would be preferable to move the area of mining more ÍnLo Lot 6, andthereby st,ay away from the ditch. It is not so much a matter thatthe operation could not proceed as planned r¿ithout doing harm to theditch, buË the possibility for ditch damage from post-miníng and pre-stabilization erosion are much greater -- noL to mentíon the damagepotenËiål from mining itself. If you could move the mining area to thehigher Ëerrace south of about the 6000 foot contour, the mining wouldbe greatly simplified, volume of material nearly equal, and potentíalfor envirorrment.al problems greatly reduced.I would like you Lo consider these thoughts. Llhere you mine is yourchoice. Either place could be mined safely, it is just a matter ofthe relaLive degree of potential environmental damage.Thank you.Sincerely,%tu-á/"Mark A.
