ALL ADDED SOIL MUST BE COMPLETELY SETTLED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF COMPONENTS AS SPECIFIED AND APPROVED BY THE DESIGN ENGINEER. THE LOADING RATE FOR SAND FILTERS MUST BE USED. PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION MUST BE USED. THE SPECIFIED SAND MEDIA IS CONSIDERED "SECONDARY SAND" WITH A LONG-TERM ACCEPTANCE RATE OF 0.80 GAL./SF/DAY. SECONDARY SAND MEDIA HAS AN EFFECTIVE SIZE OF 0.15-0.60 MM WITH A UNIFORMITY COEFFICIENT OF LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 8.0 AND PERCENT FINES PASSING #200 SIEVE OF LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 3.0. OWNER RESPONSIBILITY AND MAINTENANCE: 1. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE ON-SITE WASTEWATER SYSTEM BE INSPECTED BY A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ANNUALLY. INSPECTION TASKS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, OBSERVATION OF A CLEAN EFFLUENT FILTER, WATER LEVELS IN INSPECTION PORTS, SEPTIC TANK INTEGRITY, FUNCTION OF DISTRIBUTION BOX AND VALVES, CHECK FOR CLOGGED SEPTIC LINES VIA CLEAN OUTS, AND CHECKING FOR ANY POTENTIAL LEAKS AND LACK OF WATERTIGHT FIXTURES. 2. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE SEPTIC TANK BE PUMPED EVERY 3-5 YEARS OR AS NEEDED BASED ON INSPECTIONS BY A LICENSED PLUMBER. 3. NATIVE GRASS PERMANENT SEEDING OVER THE SOIL TREATMENT AREA IS RECOMMENDED FOR PLANTING. NO PLANTS WITH ROOTS OR THAT REQUIRE IRRIGATION ARE TO BE PLANTED WITHIN THE SOIL TREATMENT AREA. 4. NO TRASH IS TO BE EXPELLED DOWN DRAINS OR TOILETS. MINIMAL TOILET PAPER FLUSHING PER FLUSH IS RECOMMENDED. USE OF GARBAGE DISPOSAL IS DISCOURAGED. 5.DO NOT POUR CHEMICALS DOWN DRAINS OR TOILETS. 6.OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS CAN BE FOUND ON THE LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT'S WEBSITE AND BROCHURES AS WELL AS CDPHE'S (COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT) RESOURCES. REQUIRED INSPECTIONS: 1. A COLORADO LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER IS REQUIRED TO INSPECT THE INSTALLATION OF ALL OWTS COMPONENTS INCLUDING THE TANK, PUMP CHAMBER, PLUMBING COMPONENTS, AND STANDARD TREATMENT AREA INFRASTRUCTURE PRIOR TO BACKFILL. 2. THE ENGINEER IS REQUIRED TO INSPECT THE SOIL TREATMENT AREA AFTER BACKFILL TO ENSURE THAT MINIMUM COVER AND PROPER DRAINAGE AWAY FROM THE STANDARD TREATMENT AREA IS ACHIEVED. 3. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE CONTRACTOR AND/OR PROJECT MANAGER NOTIFY OUR OFFICE AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO SCHEDULED INSPECTION DATE(S). OWTS SPECIFICATIONS: 1.SLOPES ABOVE OR ADJACENT TO THE SEPTIC FIELD SHALL NOT EXCEED THREE FEET HORIZONTAL FOR EVERY ONE FOOT VERTICAL. 2. FINISHED GRADE TO BOTTOM OF CHAMBERS IS A MAXIMUM OF 4 FEET MEASURED FROM THE HIGH SIDE OF THE BED. FINISHED GRADE TO TOP OF CHAMBERS IS A MINIMUM OF 1 FOOT MEASURED FROM LOW SIDE OF THE BED. 3. DESIGN IS FOR INSTALLATION OF QUICK4 PLUS STANDARD CHAMBERS. USE OF ALTERNATIVE CHAMBERS REQUIRES REDESIGN FOR COUNTY APPROVAL. CONSTRUCTION NOTES: 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT THE SEPTIC LINE TO THE TANK IS 4" DIAMETER SCHEDULE 40 PVC AND BUILDING SEWER CLEAN-OUTS ARE INSTALLED AND ACCESSIBLE. 2. ANY REQUIRED FITTINGS SHALL BE LIMITED TO 45 DEGREE BENDS OR LONG SWEEP QUARTER BENDS. NO 90 DEGREE BENDS SHALL BE INSTALLED. FOR ANY AREAS WHERE FITTINGS ARE TO BE INSTALLED, WHICH MAY EXPERIENCE VEHICULAR LOADS, THE PIPES AND FITTINGS SHALL BE PROTECTED PER GARFIELD COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS. THE SITE PLAN ON THIS SHEET SHOWS THE DESIGNED ANTICIPATED FITTINGS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION.
