assumed maximum allowable bearing pressure of 1,500 psi.
Encountered Conditions
Excavation Canctition: We observed lhe excavation for the proposed footings, as located in the photo befow, and found ñrm, native silts. Based
upon our experience and on the IBC presumed soil load bearing pressures in Table '1806.2, this soil type, at the elevations
and time of our observations, likely meets or exceeds the presumed allowable bearing pressure used in the design.
However, the presence of weaker subsurface soil layers resulting in allowable bearing pressure of less than 1,500 psf
cannot be ruled out by surface observations only. Quantitatively verifoing soil bearing capacity generally requires access to
subsurface informat¡on and Standard Penetration test data. lf this is desired, we recommend drilling and data collection be
performed.
