HomeMy WebLinkAboutStructural Engineer Report of Existing Conditions 08.09.2021Independence Construction Group August 9, 2021 104 Midland Ave, Unit 202 Basalt, CO 81621 RE: Whitman Studio Two Site Observation of Existing Conditions, Garfield County, CO Dear Chris: Per your request, I reviewed the framing questions from the building inspector. I also came to the site to visually observe the areas in question. Item 1: The (3) ply 16” ML beam shall have a fourth 16” ML glued & screwed to the existing (3) ply. The 4th ply may stop short of the wall on the north end & the steel boot on the south side. This will be acceptable. Item 2: The north wall in the mechanical area was modified by removal of the window shown on the design drawings. The doubled up rafters which frame the skylights bear directly on the double top plates of the wall. This is acceptable as framed. Item 3: The ledger for the rafters over the mechanical room were drilled for electrical and plumbing holes. The holes are acceptable as located as the loads are transmitted directly to the studs below the rafters. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Sincerely, Dale D. Kaup P.E.
