l'm comfortable releasing the building permit for issuance with the your receíving the Alteration Permit. Question: Are
you comfortable with my releasíng the building permít upon OWTS alteration permit application "íntake"? Or do you
prefer Building Division waít to issue the building permit when the Alteration Permit application is "approved"?

After speaking with Jacob this morning, I recommend that they apply for an "Alteration Permit" to
assess and upsize the existing OWTS at the property, as it appears to be undersized for the numþer of
bedrooms that are actually present in the existing residence. ln our opinion, the Koskis should be able to move
forward with their remodel plans for the house (including being issued a building permit) if they apply for the
Alteratiorr Permit witlr the design work for tlre altered OWTS to follow. Colleen, please call to discuss if needed

Extendíng a courtesy update to let you know I started building permit review for Michael and Tammy Koski's property
at 605 Líons Ridge Rd, Lot 15.
After reviewing the property's original septic permit #1845 and related original building construction permit #4118 -- |
am a bit concerned the information from Garfield County's historic records suggests an older septic system designed to
accommodate fewer bedrooms then the 5 bedrooms proposed under current remodel permit application # BLRE-01-
, 2Z-72g4. See below screenshot referencing 3 bedrooms and l-,000 gallon capacity. From a quick parcel search, it also
appears the original home perhaps was built with an unfinished basement. Given these to factors, I do strongly
recommend contacting Garfield County Public Health at (970) 665-63814s soon as practicalto determine if the
current OWTS system is adequate; or if you will first need to obtain an approval for a septic ALTERATION
