Re: Open-hole lnspection, Fill Approval, and Fill Compaction Testing Report, Black
Diamond Road, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601; Section 8, Township 7, Range 89 SESE
During July 2021 through September 2021, American GeoServices, LLC (AGS) have performed
field inspections and/or supervisions at the referenced site (Figure 2) to inspect excavated
subgrades for the proposed residential construction. We noted soil conditions at the excavated
footing subgrade levels, the site conditions matching the descriptions provided in the original
geotechnical report done by American GeoServices, LLC. along with localized clay pockets.
Based on our evaluation, we recommended over-excavation of 2 feet, and backfilling with non-
expansive structu ral fill.
Subsequently, we performed the evaluation of the fill materials, approved it for use, and then
performed periodic structuralfill compaction testing/inspections/supervision. Based on the results,
we confirmed that over-excavated areas were backfilled with free-draining granular structural fill
compacted to the equivalent of 95% of ASTM D698 maximum dry density.
Therefore, we approve all final subgrades prepared for concrete placement, provided all the
drainage recommendations as well as all other recommendations discussed in the original
geotechnical report are followed throughout the design life of the structures.
Evaluation of underpinning of any existing structures, shoring, and any related inspection or
design was beyond our scope of services for this letter report. Evaluation of the stability of any
existing adjacent and nearby strnctures or slopes or cuts was beyond our scope of services for

services.
ln this report, we have presented judgments based partly on our understanding of the proposed
construction and partly on the data we have obtained. This report meets professional standards
expected for reports of this type in this area. Our company is not responsible for the conclusions,
opinions or recommendations made by others based on the data we have presented.
This report has been prepared exclusively for the client, its' engineers and subcontractors for
design and construction of the proposed structure. No other engineer, consultant, or contractor
shall be entitled to rely on information, conclusions or recommendations presented in this
document without the prior written approval of AGS.
